Switching it on in the Off-Season. Bicheno once again will play host to a free event - Bicheno Beams.
A family-friendly event, a celebration of light. Bicheno Beams will offer yet another exciting reason to visit our must-stay destination.
Listen to spectacular music which accompanies the lights shining into the sky.
Every night at 6:30pm. Show length: approx: 15 minutes.
Bicheno Beams is set to become an unmissable annual event, drawing locals and visitors alike to celebrate the place we love.
You'll be welcomed by a team of local volunteers who will guide you to the viewing area. Come for two nights and see two different, alternating shows.

Experience Queenstown like never before with Beyond the Forest, a large-scale light and sound projection illuminating the iconic Paragon Theatre. Part of the Light Up the West winter series, Colours of Queenstown transforms the town with bold stories, warm gatherings, and unforgettable visuals in the heart of Tasmania's rugged West Coast.
Created by acclaimed projection artist Alex Moss, Beyond the Forest draws inspiration from early maps that once labelled the region 'Transylvania'—meaning 'beyond the forest.' Through powerful imagery and immersive soundscapes, the show explores themes of isolation, resilience, and renewal. It's a tribute to Queenstown's dramatic landscape and the strength of communities shaped by industry and adversity.
This free event invites visitors to step into a layered, moving story that celebrates Queenstown's fierce spirit and breathtaking surrounds. After the show, stay for fire-lit feasts, Empire karaoke, or Whisky & Whistles at Tracks Café.

Festival of Voices is Tasmania's ultimate winter singing celebration for all music lovers, with renowned performers, workshops, and participatory events.
Since its inception in 2005, Festival of Voices has celebrated the joy and wellbeing benefits of singing. What began as a small group of music lovers gathered around a fire in the depths of Tasmania's winter has grown to a 10-day festival featuring local, Australian, and international talent who compose, teach, perform and host our diverse event series. With choral, cabaret, classical, comedy, and contemporary, there's something for every music lover, whether you want to attend, learn, or participate!

Lightwave is an annual winter arts festival celebrating 'people and place' across Turrakana Tasman Peninsula. Lightwave fosters community connection and collective warmth in the darkness of winter by taking the phenomenon of light as the catalyst for the festival's multi-artform programme.
Lightwave presents three days of music and art events on Turrakana Tasman Peninsula in the southeast of Tasmania. The main event features live music, contemporary light-based art, delicious food, and community warmth and is a free, all ages community festival.
Thursday 17 July 2025 - Saturday 19 July 2025 (Annual) Currie
Anchoring the season is the King Island Anchorage Festival, a laid-back celebration of local culture, creativity, and connection. It's a weekend of shared stories, and community warmth, where the island's rugged spirit truly shines.
At its heart is Sea-ing Light: an immersive audio-visual experience projected onto the iconic Currie Lighthouse and historic Lens Room. The artwork created by acclaimed artist Alex Moss, will transform these emblematic structures into glowing canvases and a "playable instrument" that visitors can actively participate with.
Also not to be missed is Weathering: a heartfelt exhibition by local artists reflecting on the recent drought, capturing the resilience, humour, and humanity of the King Island community.
The Anchorage Festival celebrates the quiet magic of winter on Tasmania's wild west isle, inviting all to illuminate their winter and ignite their inner light. This windswept island doesn't do winter like the rest of Australia. Here, the pace slows, the stories deepen, and the sense of place glows. From the crackle of bonfires to a lighthouse lit with light and meaning, King Island comes alive in its own raw, elemental way.
